Golf In Physical Education

Golf In Physical Education

Students in grades 5-8 have been exploring golf for the past few weeks. We have learned to chip, putt and drive. As well many rules of Golf Etiquette. The kids seem to be just like most adults, they have a few bad shots, they they tear into the ball right down the middle. For most kids it seems like it is there 1st time trying golf and we also have some kids who are no strangers to the links. The goal of the unit is to expose kids to a sport they might have been exposed to before and then maybe some kids will be interested in exploring golf further.  As we get to the end of the unit the last lesson will be a simulated golf course inside the gym. the 7th grade was the 1st to have this lesson and they loved the golf course that we set up in the gym with the limited space we have.
