This week in Visual Art for Monday, Wednesday, & Friday October 17th, 19th, 21st
Preschool: Students learned about shapes and the application of “Collage”. They improved their fine motor skills by creating a shape collage.
Kindergarten First and Second:: Students learned about how to express their emotions through art-making. They created a facial expression on a pumpkin. Each student explored the growth cycle through the seasons.
Third: Each student learned the elements of art and principles of design while creating a harvest scene. We discussed warm and cool colors and how they can express a season.
Fourth: Students finished their perspective drawings. They revised and reflected.
Fifth: Revise Self Portraits
Explore and experiment with a range of art materials and tools to create and communicate personal meaning.
Sixth: Each student created a Value Scale Pumpkin. They utilized Pastels as an art medium. They learned about the art element of value while blending the colored pastels.
Seventh and Eighth : Students worked in groups to create a habitat in space. They utilized the Visual Arts Google Classroom to reach the website for TinkerCad. They focused on engineering a spaceship using computer graphics. The criteria includes: Design a spaceship that can maintain a natural Habitat in Space.
Here is the scenario…..
Human exploration of Mars will be no easy feat.
Scientists and engineers at Lockheed Martin are helping to lead the way by building Orion – NASA’s next generation spacecraft that will carry the first human crew to Mars.
A round trip to Mars could take years. In addition to the Orion spacecraft, which safely transports astronauts, explorers will need extra living space, or a habitat. Lockheed Martin and NASA are developing design concepts for habitats and you can join this effort too
