Updates from 7/6/23
Together, we celebrate the freedom in living our faith and the choices we have for the best of our children and families. I am thrilled to share with you that choosing and investing in the gift of Catholic education at Saint Ambrose Catholic School just became even more accessible and much easier for all families!
Earlier this week, Governor DeWine signed into law an amazing opportunity for every eligible K-12 Ohio student. Special thanks to all who took action and sent messages to your State representative and senator! It worked and all Ohio students are eligible to receive an EdChoice Scholarship.
Every Ohio student will now be eligible for an EdChoice scholarship, with families up to 450% of the Federal poverty level receiving a full scholarship, and all other households receiving partial scholarships on a sliding scale, with the lowest being 10% of a full scholarship.
Highlights ~
-
Scholarship amounts are income based.
-
Students whose family income is at or below 450% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL), or about $135,000 for a family of four, are eligible to receive the full scholarship amount.
-
A student whose family income is above 450% FPL is eligible for a scholarship decreased on a sliding scale.
-
The Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship amount has also increased.
This is a God-send! We are eagerly awaiting the official details and will share them with you as soon as they are ready. The State and our Diocese need some time to prepare.
The EdChoice application system will be closed starting July 1 so please wait before you attempt to apply. We are also preparing FAQ information sheets and will schedule information and sign up sessions soon.
So exciting! Watch for more coming soon.
May God continue to bless you, your families and Saint Ambrose Catholic School.
Joyfully,
Lisa Cinadr
