At Saint Ambrose Catholic School, our students are well-balanced in and out of the classroom. We have a robust extracurricular Clubs and Activities program. Indeed, there is something for every student! All are encouraged to become engaged in any of our exciting clubs offered this season!

Boy Scouts Troop 513

Boy Scout Troop 513, chartered by St. Ambrose Church since 1971, is a youth organization targeted to young boys between the ages of 11-18.  Under the guidance of more than 25 adult leaders, the scouts will develop various skills including strong character, timeless values, and leadership.  Troop 513 uses a variety of methods to promote these core values.  Click the link for more information.

Chess Club (Grades 1-8)

St. Ambrose Chess Fall 18

Join us as we learn the game of chess, which has been shown to improve higher level thinking skills  such as memory, concentration and pattern recognition!  No previous experience is necessary.

Join us for coloring, relaxation and conversation!  This club cultivates creativity and relaxation through coloring and conversation in a safe space for girls to connect, build one another up and unwind.  All materials provided.

Crazy 8’s Math Club (Grades 4-5) NEW!

Crazy 8’s is the Bridge Math Club where we are going to make math fun again!  We will engage in fun activities, solve real life problems and even make some songs! Who knew math could be so enjoyable you’d want to stay after school for it?

Join us as we apply math and science skills to build and discover through hands on learning labs!  This class is provided through an outside vendor and priority registration will be granted through website registration.  Please check the box on clubs form and complete ONLINE registration through  www.ClassroomAntics.com.  Checks not accepted.

First Lego League Robotics Club (Ages 6 & up) 

First Lego League is an international STEM initiative and robotics competition!  We are excited to have offer this after school club  throught the generosity of  our STEAM partner and sponsor, Rockwell Automation Group.  First Lego League teams research a real-world problem and are challenged to develop a solution.  They also must design, build and program a robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS technology, then compete on a table-top playing field. Please note this club does require an average of 4 hours of work per week outside of meeting times.  Sponsored spots are limited and  available on a first come first serve basis.  All materials provided thanks to generosity of Rockwell Automation Group.

Hook and Needle Club (Grades 3-8)

Join us as we learn to knit and crochet!  We will be making projects.  Please see below supplies needed. No previous experience necessary.

Additional Supplies Needed: 
If your child is interested in knitting, he or she will need to bring a pair of size 10 1/2 short needles.  If your child is interested in learning to crochet, he or she will need a size J crochet hook.  Yarn will be provided.

 

Kindergarten Sports Clinic (Kindergarten SAS and PSR students)

This sports clinic will introduce your Kindergartener to the Saint Ambrose Athletics Program.  This is a great new opportunity for your child to be exposed and learn about different sports. Fundamentals of T Ball, soccer, lacrosse, and flag football will be taught by CYO coaches on Saint Ambrose Campus.  Two one hour sessions will be spent on each sport. Clinic meets one session per week on Tuesdays for 8 weeks. Space is limited.

Student Ambassadors (5-8)

 Join the Student Ambassadors in Action program.  Please follow the link below for the Google application that must be completed for all new and returning Ambassadors.   The Google application must be completed beforehand in order for your student to stay after school for these meetings.  We plan to meet the 2nd  Wednesday of the month.  Contacts for this year are  Mrs. Marvin, and Mr. Bagley Looking forward to a year full of wonderful service opportunities!

Join us as we learn the martial art of Taekwondo!  Certified instructors provided by Matchpoint Martial Arts Studio in Brunswick.  Students need to bring and be able to change into gym clothes to participate.  No shoes needed.

Meeting: Spring Session will be offered after the church renovation is  completed.
