Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

Philippians 4:8

EVERYTHING! Our Pledge. Our Promise.

Dear Parents and Friends,

Celebrating Mass together as a faith family is the best way to start the week, don’t you think? Actually, our school week really begins on Sunday. What a blessing it was to celebrate Mass together at Progressive Field on Sunday!  Then we were blessed again as our Saint Ambrose Parish Choir sang the National Anthem prior to the game.  Thank you to Father Bob and all involved in bringing our parish and diocesan family together in praise and worship of Jesus Christ who is Everything to us!  Father’s homily reminded us of our responsibility as disciples of Christ and companions on the journey.  He asked us to do three things: 1. Compete well for the faith. 2. Reach out to our brothers and sisters with a helping hand. 3. Take a look in our closets and donate a coat as part of The Fest’s community service.

These are easy reminders and ways that we can give our promise back to God for His faithfulness to us.  We are partners in helping parents be the primary educators of the faith for their children.  At LAPS and SAS, we recognize the importance of our work in helping God’s children find and develop their gifts and talents so they can “run the race to win” as St. Paul reminds us.

Examples of reaching out to our brothers and sisters in need happens daily here.  If a student is struggling, other students offer help.  First Grade is learning about people who witnessed for Christ and connecting their work to their own lives. They are thinking of ways they can be holy people within our school and parish community. I heard recently of a student who said we need to pray for people who do bad things.  A family asked us to share prayers and awareness of childhood cancer during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month (September). These are real signs of the Holy Spirit who is alive and well.  We look for our students sharing the Fruits of the Spirit with each other. Hopefully you are seeing them in action at home and during extracurricular events.  I’ve asked our bus drivers to help us reinforce our values too. They will be distributing “Bus Blessings” to students who act in the ways expected of Saint Ambrose School students.

We will also work with our parish family to collect coats for The Fest project.  Any opportunity we have to serve others solidifies what sets us apart in Christ.

We are thrilled to welcome two new students, Juan Villa (8) and Nathan Hinchliffe (3)!  Their families recognize the Holy Spirit at work here and the support that will be given to their children.

Watch for more of the ways we are keeping our promises to God’s children. Thank you always for your prayerful and financial support.  We are so grateful for the work we are given and for all who help us carry it out. God has blessed our school and parish! May all that we do glorify Him.

Blessings,
Mrs. Lisa Cinadr, Principal
