The fifth-graders are in the middle of an exciting project during which they work in groups to research a particular region of the United States. Each pair or triad within the larger group is responsible for finding information about various categories, including climate/landforms/resources, people/history, and culture/food. After the research phase is completed, the students will then plan a “morning news show” containing segments that report their facts in an interesting way. The kiddos are currently in the script-writing process, and soon they’ll finalize the details of the news show and cohesively bring the segments together. It’s been awesome watching the students think critically and creatively!
