Today was an innovative day in computer science! We discussed the new format for the computer science classes. We will be coding, doing special projects, problem solving with Makerspaces, and preparing for Invention Convention. Students are bringing home a questionnaire form to help them develop ideas for inventions. They have been instructed to look at everyday life. What problems do they see? How can they make a current product better? The students will be asking family, friends, and any person they choose to help them develop a list of invention ideas. They will bring these papers to their next computer science class to begin narrowing the ideas to that special one. I love the creativity of many of the ideas that some of the students shared with me today. I can’t wait to see the ideas when they return their questionnaires.
