Computer Science instructors worked on a leprechaun collaborative project with Mrs. Kautzman and Mrs. Gove for the Kindergarten students, and the 1st grade students participated as well! Students learned about leprechauns in their classroom, then developed a coding project using leprechauns! They also learned about using the addition operator during class.

2nd grade students participated in a dental health collaborative project with Mrs. Shreve and Mrs. Kubas during computer science class. Students learned about dental health in their classroom, then developed a coding project using Scratch to highlight what they had learned in their dental health lesson.

3rd grade students participated in a habitat collaborative project with Ms. Rego and Ms. Graber during computer science class. Students learned about animals and plants within habitats, then implemented what they had learned during computer science class using Scratch!

4th grade students participated in an underground railroad collaborative project with Mrs. Noga during computer science class. Students learned about the underground railroad in class, then used ArcGIS to map the underground railroad during computer science class.

5th grade students participated in an explorers collaborative project with Mrs. Noga during computer science class. Students learned about explorers in their classroom, then investigated explorers and different influence resulting from other countries within the U.S. and Canada. They used ArcGIS to map and analyze exploration in North America.

6th grade – 8th grade computer science classes worked on corporate projects for the preschool this week! They found preschool theme images and began using MIT App Inventor. Students are developing apps to help preschool students learn the alphabet and numbers.
