We will celebrate a mash-up of October’s Respect Life Month, Halloween and All Saints Day. I’m very proud of our 8th graders who are leading the following: – Collin G. and friends are leading a toiletry collection for St. Herman’s. – Nick and Mimi worked on planning a respect life spirit/dress down for next week. See below for more information. October 30 – Pajama Day – school appropriate styles only. (From Nick and Mimi: “To show respect for children. This can show that no matter what age you are you have a voice. We could do something with our prayer buddies that day.”) October 31 – Halloween Orange and Black Dress Down Day – no costumes – see below for guidelines. November 1– All Saints Day (Holy Day of Obligation) Students wear uniforms or may wear saint costumes. Second Grade will lead a saints procession and/or Communion Reflection for our school All Saints Day Mass at 1:30 pm. November 2 – All Souls Day Red, White and Blue Day – wear red, white or blue/patriotric tops with school appropriate bottoms. (From Nick and Mimi: “To support all the wonderful men and women who have died for our country.”) in memory/honor of those who have served and serve now. November 3 – Wear pink or other cancer-awareness color tops with school-appropriate bottoms for cancer awareness. (From Nick and Mimi: “This can show our respect to the people with cancer. To help support breast cancer we could make cards for people to show that during tough times you are not alone.”) ++Let’s have fun responsibly! Students will call home for a change of clothing or be given an item of spirit wear as needed if not dressed in school-appropriate items. Refer to the Student Handbook for guidelines for dress down days. |
