There has been a lot of excitement looming over the Distance Learning Lab!  We received a wonderful and generous donation from Mr. Bob Gillingham and his family last fall to remodel the distance learning lab into a state of the art classroom!  Over the summer many teams of people worked feverishly to make sure this room was perfect for school to start!  There are not enough thank yous to go out to the men and women and students who worked in this room to get each part in perfect shape for today!

Many students have been eager to get into this room and see all of the hard work completed!  Today our 7th and 8th graders were able to come down and experience the room today.  We talked about the dreams of this room and what potential it brings for them and the students that follow in their footsteps to be graduates of St. Ambrose School.  One of the dreams was to have the ability to offer courses and opportunities to our students without having to leave St. Ambrose.  Last year our Math program offered an advanced math track program to groups of students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. During that time the 7th graders in that program had the opportunity to complete their High School Algebra I course as 7th graders.  We decided we would look for an opportunity for them to take High School Geometry from the comfort of our school for this school year.  In the spring we secured a school and a teacher and today it became reality!!!  The students took their first class with their teacher and her students at Mount Vernon High School from our Distance Learning Lab!  The potential of this equipment for the opportunities for our students is amazing and we look forward to finding more opportunities so we can continue to strive to provide everything for our students every day!
