Guardian Angels Extended Care Program

Dear Parents & Guardians,
Thank you for entrusting your child to the Saint Ambrose Guardian Angels Program. The mission of the Saint Ambrose Guardian Angels Program is to provide a safe, fun and nurturing program that helps children to grow in mind, body, and spirit. This program is offered for Saint Ambrose Students only, from preschool-8th grade.
Good communication with you is key to making this program successful and beneficial to you and your child(ren). We would appreciate your thoughts and comments on any aspect of this program that you like or would like to see improved. Last year, we listened to you and added and changed things to make this program even stronger.
Working together, we can provide a safe, fun and nurturing environment that will enhance the educational, creative, emotional, social and physical development of each child within a Catholic environment.

Registration Fee
$35 Registration per child per year. (Saint Ambrose School and Littlest Angels Preschool Campuses.) Fees are $150 per 20 hours/ $7.50 per hour.
Unused hours will carry over into the next school year. However, we cannot return any money for unused hours if you don’t need the program anymore. Please inquire for weekly rate if you will be using daily M-F.
What to Bring
Students may bring a change of clothes (follow school dress code policy for dress down days.) Socks must be worn. Flip Flops are not permitted. Snacks are not provided but your child may pack a peanut free snack. Electronic devices are NOT permitted. Students may bring a toy to play with. We are not responsible for lost, shared, or broken toys. Please have your child bring a water bottle for when we are outside.
Notes: Please make sure your child’s teacher knows if he or she will be attending GA. If there is a change of transportation during the school day, please call the school office 330-460-7301 as soon as possible.
After School Activities: Please send in a note and make arrangements for an adult to pick up your child. Guardian Angels can receive children after school clubs end if extended care is needed up until 6pm M-F.

Program Activities:
We include quiet time and study time, guest speakers, parties, dancing, exercise and other activities that strengthen the students in mind, body, and spirit.
Schedule:

2:45-3:00 Attendance/Prayer
3:00-3:30 Bathroom Break/Snack Time/Free Time (pack your own snack peanut free)
3:30-4:30 Homework/Quiet Time/Table Time (homework collaboration)
4:30-6:00 Play Time (games, creative play, playground, family appropriate videos)
Homework Time: Students need to bring all necessary supplies including PENCILS, PAPER, etc.
Location and Communication
GA is held in the Gillingham Innovation Center, Hilkert Hall, and outside (weather permitting). Please look for the Guardian Angels sign posted outside our location for pickup. Please use the walkie-talkie to communicate with staff. The walkie-talkie will be located by the Hilkert Hall doors on the rectory (west facing) side of the building, or the main entrance of the school if students are in the library.
