University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s awarded Hunter Velasquez with a computer science internship during the week of July 18 – 22!

During his internship, he migrated the content from the old site to UH’s servers by making updates to the code using HTML. Hunter learned about programming languages, marketing data, mobile app development, front-end/back-end web development, and how to create monthly/quarterly reports for the UH Information Technology Department.

Hunter enjoyed attending I.T. meetings because he was able to learn what was involved on a corporate level, to develop a website and mobile app! For an upcoming project, Hunter was asked to write a proposal and scope for an idea during his internship! He was also able to provide input for a class demonstration that was going to be taught using Xamarin for app development. Hunter helped research, design, and add functionality for the demonstration app!
