Our latest STEM project in room 104 was that involving a newspaper tower. Students were given the challenge to design, build, test, and update a tower made only of newspaper. The requirements were that it had to hold up and support a basketball for at lease 20 seconds. More than half of the towers were successful! WOW! Students loved taking part in this creative project and getting to use the engineer design process. Groups did a brainstorm session and had little to no help from me. These towers were very creative. Check out the pictures below to see the process.
