“Save Fred Challenge” with fifth grade

The fifth graders with their group, had to figure out a way to save Fred, the gummy worm.  First they had to get Fred off the bottom of the boat (plastic cup).  Then they had to get the life jacket (gummy saver) out from under the boat.  Finally they had to put the life jacket on Fred.  They could not touch anything directly but use only paper clips.  The students were definitely up for the challenge.
