Visual Art Update for Monday, Wednesday & Friday May 6th, 8th & 10th

Kindergarten: Students created drawing of an ice cream cone. They used their imagination to think of new flavors. We discussed the art element of texture.

First : Students in Mrs. Whitmer’s room drew their own design of a tree house. In Mrs. McCarthy-Reed’s class students experimented with colors. They created a ice cream cone with different flavors of ice cream. Each students selected and identified each scoop. Second:

Third: We missed Mrs. Cole’s class as they went on a field trip. Mrs. Graber’s class worked in groups of two researching a famous artist. They described in their own words the meaning of the artwork.

Fourth: Students utilized the time to finish projects. This was considered a “studio time”.

Fifth: Students learned about installation art. They compared and contrasted how form and style are influenced by environmental artworks.

HSP: Zentangle is an easy to learn method of creating images from repetitive patterns. It is a fascinating new art form that is fun and relaxing. It increases focus and creativity. Zentangle provides artistic satisfaction and an increased sense of personal well being.
