Visual Art Update for Wednesday and Friday May 14th, 16th,& 18th

Preschool: Students learned about
ZOO theme (animals Care for God’s Creation)

Kindergarten and first : Students learned about the art element of texture. They created a colorful ice cream cone made of shaving cream and collage materials.

Second: Students learned about cultural art. They experienced the countries China, Japan and Egypt. Each country has a popular kite flying festival. Afterwards, each student designed their own kite.

Third: Tree house drawing in two point perspective.
What is Two Point Perspective?
Two point perspective drawing is a type of linear perspective. Linear perspective is a method using lines to create the illusion of space on a 2D surface. There are three types of linear perspective. One point perspective uses one vanishing point placed on the horizon line. Two point perspective uses two points placed on the horizon line. Three point perspective uses three vanishing points.

Fourth: Students learned about 2-point perspective by creating a dream tree house.

Fifth: Students completed observational drawing outdoors. They experimented with “obscura”.
Camera obscura also referred to as pinhole image, is the natural optical phenomenon that ….. maps, theatre setups and architectural and later photographic images and movies started in the Western Renaissance and the scientific revolution.

HSP: Students began a zentangle project.
Zentangle is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. Almost anyone can use it to create beautiful images. It increases focus and creativity, provides artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of personal well being. The Zentangle method is enjoyed all over this world across a wide range of skills, interests and ages.
