Visual Art Update for Monday, Wednesday and Friday Jan. 22, 24, and 26

Preschool: Students learned about printmaking. They used a celery stick to use to print the gills on a fish.

Kindergarten: Students learned about the artist Wassily Kandinsky. They created “Abstract” art using circles as a pattern. They demonstrated beginning skill and craftsmanship while utilizing different art mediums.

First: Students finished their “Abstract” art project. They created an abstract painting using color (achromatic, theories), shape (geometric, organic), and line (curved, straight, wavy). They learned about the artist Wassily Kandinsky.

Second: Mrs. Kubas’s class learned how to weave. They created placemats for Senior Citizens for a valentine social. Mrs. Shreve’s
students finished their “Abstract” art project. They created an abstract painting using color (achromatic, theories), shape (geometric, organic), and line (curved, straight, wavy). They learned about the artist Wassily Kandinsky.

Third: Students finished their “Abstract” art project. They created an abstract painting using color (achromatic, theories), shape (geometric, organic), and line (curved, straight, wavy). They learned about the artist Wassily Kandinsky.

Fourth: Students communicated how their personal artistic decisions were influenced by their social and environmental views. They started creating artwork for the LIFEWORKS art contest. The bible verse is “…whatever you did for one of the least of My brothers, you did it for Me.” Matthew 25:40

Fifth: Students started working on the St Ambrose REACH Logo. This is part of graphic Design. The goal for this project will be to achieve: 1. Acquire and demonstrate competency in technical skills applicable to graphic design. 2. Demonstrate the ability to use design thinking strategies in an iterative design process.

Sixth: Students communicated how their personal artistic decisions were influenced by their social and environmental views. They started creating artwork for the LIFEWORKS art contest. The bible verse is “…whatever you did for one of the least of My brothers, you did it for Me.” Matthew 25:40

Seventh: Students drew in perspective. They imagined that they were architects and designed a church using two point perspective.

Eighth: Students started working on the St Ambrose REACH Logo. This is part of graphic Design. The goal for this project will be to achieve: 1. Acquire and demonstrate competency in technical skills applicable to graphic design. 2. Demonstrate the ability to use design thinking strategies in an iterative design process.
