Visual Art Update for Monday Wednesday  & Friday October 23, 25, 27  2017

 

Starting Quarter Two  

 

Preschool: Students are producing artworks that express and represent their experiences and imagination while creating a watercolor resist spider web.

 

Kindergarten: Students utilized the watercolor paints while creating a spider web that contained a crayon web that resisted the watercolor paint. They identified and named the materials. They recognized and pointed out the basic elements of art.

 

First: Each student learned about Warm versus Cool Colors. The theme for collaboration this week is FIRE PREVENTION. Students created a composition of a Hot Flame designed with paint, glitter and paper.

Second: Students created a Bat Silhouette. They noticed and pointed out details and responded to expressive features in their artworks. They compared materials and techniques.

Third: Students designed a bat collage. They identified the relationship between selected principles of design and the art elements.

 

Fourth: Students learned about one point perspective, horizon line, and a vanishing point . They noticed and described different visual effects in their artwork. They created a one point perspective pumpkin patch.

 

Fifth: Students will follow up from the Graphic Design Presentation last week. They will design the cover for the Christmas Concert while utilizing the basic skills of graphic design.

 

Sixth: This week art and coding are collaborating. The project consisted of figuring out a real verse fake piece of pottery. Students learned in art how to describe the design elements and principles used in artworks. They discovered and articulated media forms and meanings.

 

Seventh: Students finished their famous artist presentations.
