Visual Art Update for Monday Wednesday & Friday October 30th, November 1st, and 3rd

Preschool: Students followed up from last week’s lesson on 2-D verse 3-D shapes. They created a three dimensional pumpkin.

Kindergarten: Students started creating a three dimensional turkey project. They practiced fine motor skills and good craftsmanship.

First: Students learned about organic shapes vs geometric shapes. They designed a tree with leaves.

Second: Students demonstrated flexibility in their creative processes and use of art materials.

Third: This week art became cross curricular with religion and language arts. Each student drew a Saint. They collaborated with others to create a work of art that addresses an
interdisciplinary theme.

Fourth: Students generated ideas and employed a variety of strategies to solve a visual problem using the online software program TINKERCAD.
It is used by architects, engineers, and structural designers to design, draft, and model buildings and other structures.

Fifth: Students learned how to problem solve while utilizing the software program TINKERCAD. They expressed challenges while creating a design of an iceberg.

Sixth: Students created a “Bark Cloth”. This is cross-curricular project with Math and Music *Mr. Worthman.
Bark cloth is made from the inner bark of the paper mulberry or similar tree. Students will be using a brown paper bag instead.

Seventh: Students started working on a PBL “Animal Book”.This is cross curricular with Language Arts *Mr. LaGuardia.

Eighth: Students finished their Famous Artist Presentations. They started to explain and defend their artistic decisions using visual art vocabulary.
