ANGEL TREE OF GIVING December 4th –8th
The Christmas Season is a time for us to give thanks and to reflect on all of the many graces that God has given our families. It is also a good time to think of those in our parish and community who are less fortunate. In the spirit of helping others, St. Ambrose PTU will once again collect new and un-wrapped gifts of various items listed below for needy area families. The donated items will be collected in our school library in the mornings just after announcements. As in the past, these items will be given to St. Ambrose/St. Colette Catholic Works of Mercy and the Brunswick United Methodist Church to serve the needy in our area.
If you wish to participate, please send the NEW/UN-WRAPPED item with your child between the dates of Monday, December 4th thru Friday December 8th. Each student delivering a gift will receive a candy cane and place their name on a paper angel on the library’s Angel Tree showing their generosity and compassion.
To reach all age groups and cover the most needed items, please find below the suggested purchases. Please keep in mind that you are not limited to the list and that anything that is donated is appreciated.
Preschoolers –Mittens/gloves & scarves (all ages/sizes. Don’t forget grandma & grandpas, moms & dads!), Slippers, DVD Family Movies, Popcorn, Treats, Christmas candy, Gift Cards- Food (Subway, Mr. Hero, McDonalds, Wendy’s, Burger King, Taco Bell, and Sonic)
Kindergarten – Boxed Snacks (crackers, etc.), Popcorn, Trail Mixes, Snacks for Lunches (pudding, Jell-O, fruit etc.) Card Games (Uno, Phase 10, etc.), Bath/Shampoo for kids, Gift Cards-Food (Steak & Shake, Chipotle, Bob Evans, Applebee’s, Arby’s, Panera, KFC, etc.)
1st Grade – Hot Wheels, Boys & Girls Craft Kits, Model kits, Disney Character Items, Building Blocks, Gift Cards-Pharmacy (Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, Drug Mart)
2nd Grade – Shower Gel, Lotion, Body Wash Products, Shower Scrubbers, Soaps, Bath Bubbles, Bandages, Hair Accessories, Brush/Combs, Kid’s Mouth Rinse, Deodorant, Hand Sanitizer. Gift Cards-Hair Salon (Great Clips, Best Cuts)
3rd Grade – Footballs, Basketballs, jump ropes, Velcro catch games, Frisbees (sports toys/outdoor toys) Monster Trucks, Dolls, Doll Accessories, Barbie dolls. Gift Cards-Cinema or Movie Rental (Hickory Ridge, Regal, Cinemark or Family Video)
4th Grade – School Supplies: Loose Leaf Paper, Notebooks, Pens, Pencils, Erasers, Markers, Crayons, Tape, Drawing Paper, Glue, Glue Sticks, Folders, Highlighters, Correction Tape, Calendars, Play Dough. Gift Cards-discount store (Dollar General, Big Lots, Family Dollar)
5th Grade – Lego Kits (all ages), Boxed Puzzles (all ages), Coloring Books, Activity Books (crosswords, word search, etc.), Crayons, Markers, Story Books (all ages). Gift Cards – Pizza (any local pizzeria)
6th Grade – Garbage Bags, Zipper Bags: Gallon, Quart, Sandwich Sizes, Plastic Wrap, Wax Paper, Foil, Kitchen Napkins, Kleenex, Paper Towels, Toilet Tissue. Gift Cards-Store (Target, Kmart, Wal-Mart, Big Lots)
