Visual Art Update for Friday October 15th, 17th, 19th
Preschool: Warm and Cool Colors} collaboration with preschool scheduling on fire prevention.
Kindergarten: Each student experimented with clay as an art medium. They created animals out of clay.
Clay Animals
First: Students learned about Saint Francis Of Assisi (Love for Animals). They designed their own silhouette of animals.
Francis’ devotion to God was expressed through his love for all of God’s creation. St. Francis cared for the poor and sick, he preached sermons to animals, and praised all creatures as brothers and sisters under God. St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals and ecology, was born in Italy around 1181 or 1182.
Second: Each student participated in a STREAM project all about spiders. They created a spider in motion.
Third: Each student learned about one point perspective. They created a harvest scene using pastels as the art medium.
Fourth: Students learned about Saint Francis Of Assisi (Love for Animals). They designed their own silhouette of animals.
Fifth: Students created a watercolor painting of an animal of their choice in its natural habitat.
Sixth: Students were at Camp this week.
Seventh: We are starting a STREAM project with Mr. LaGuardia on Zoo animals. Each student will produce a digital animal that lives in a zoo. They will follow up with Mr. LaGuardia.
Eight: A collaborative project is underway. Students are learning about Cardinal Virtue verse Capital Sin. Each student will create an artist statement before they begin a painting. They will utilize the paints to express the meaning of Cardinal Virtue or Capital Sin.
