Visual Art Update for Friday October Monday 29th, Wednesday October 31, November 2nd

Preschool: Students listened to the book “The Fox and the Crow”. Afterwards, they created their own interpretation of a fox using their imagination.

Kindergarten: each student painted falling leaves as part of an autumn landscape scene. They distinguished between common visual art forms (e.g., painting, drawing,
sculpture).

First: Students learned the difference between organic shapes versus geometric shapes. They are part of God’s Creation. These are Organic Shapes!!

Second: Students identified, selected and used art and design elements and principles to express a variety of visual effects in a drawing of a cat. They learned about the artist Paul Klee and his painting styles. Creating surface, contour, pattern and tones.

Third: Students designed their own paper sculpture. They explored manipulating paper.

Fourth: In Mrs. Thompson’s class each student combined the elements and principles of art to create a visually effective composition. They overlapped tree leaves and illuminated them with bright colors. Each student in Mrs. Parente’s designed a digital citizen superhero. This is a STREAM project. More to come…stay tuned in!!

Fifth: Each student combined the elements and principles of art to create a visually effective composition. They overlapped tree leaves and illuminated them with bright colors. They utilized the time to finish their watercolor painting.

Sixth: Each student painted a Bark-Cloth from the Congo. This is collaborative project with Mr. Wortman Music

Seventh:Students are working on a Greek mask. This a a STREAM project with Mrs. Noga.

Eight: Students are understanding design and graphic design. They will be able to discuss different types of graphic design. Each student will create a Christmas Scene design for the Saint Ambrose Parishioners utilizing their Chromebooks to incorporate digital designs.
