This past week was filled with many wonderful activities!

In language arts the children worked on reviewing vowels and their sounds.  In fact, the students  even learned a vowel dance.  The students also learned that all words must contain at least one vowel.

The students read several Super Kids short stories and retold them by sequencing parts of the story.

We also worked hard on our first memory word poem in our poetry folder.  The students then took their poetry folder home to read to an adult and have their poetry folder signed.  All poetry folders are to be returned to school on Monday.

In math class, the children began working on counting and writing numbers t0 120.  Please continue to practice counting with your child on a regular basis.

In Social Studies, the children began to share  their fantastic Labor Day projects with their classmates.

In Science, the children ;earned about science tools.  This week, we will begin to learn about our five senses and how our senses are used in Science experiments.  Emphasis will be placed on the fact that we do not use our sense of taste when conducting experiments.

The children participated in Chromebook Computer Login Camp with Mrs. Morgan. The students  learned how to log into the school computers using their username and password.  The students also created their first Google Document.  This week, the children will begin to practice typing using two hands.

This past week we also drew our first name for the Star Student.  The Star Student brings in photos and responds to questions about his or herself and shares everything with their classmates.  A new  Star Student will be selected every week.  Congratulations to Dylan who has been selected as our first Star Student.  We are looking forward to learning more about you!

Stay tuned for information about our wonderful activities for this  upcoming Week!
