It’s been a great week at St. Ambrose! As always, please join us for mass this weekend. It’s always great to come together and worship the Lord as a St. Ambrose School family! Here’s a look at some of the great things our students are doing…

In PE…

Reminder, all 8th grade parents are invited to attend the 8th grade/faculty volleyball game! Come out to see if the 8th grade can beat the faculty in this fantastic St. Ambrose School tradition!

In Science…

Our school has the opportunity to participate in Young Astronauts Day at NASA.  Due to the overwhelming response from schools wanting to attend, there was a lottery on September 16 and we were lucky enough to win.
Twelve of our eighth grade students will be competing with other schools from the Northern Ohio area.  The competition will be held Saturday, November 5, and will require teamwork, problem solving and time management.
Congratulations to the following students that will be attending Young Astronauts Day:
Ann Marie Bell, Callie Cotter, Nick Grassia, Justin Holzheimer, Jason Karl, Jacob Keller, Kylie Kirkpatrick, Camryn Knapik, Zach Nuti, Bilal Quamine, Daniel Stacensky, Ryan Strmac
In Social Studies…

6th Grade- The students have a test on Wednesday over Mesopotamia and the Fertile Crescent. They have study guides to complete for Wednesday.

7th Grade- We are nearing an end to our unit on Ancient Greece. The students are illustrating Aesop’s fables and creating their own fables based on the moral of the fable they chose.
8th Grade- The students had a great discussion with Father Bob regarding issues for the party platforms they will be creating. We will be starting this project on Monday.
In ELA…

Power of the pen met on Monday. We still haven’t decided on our final team. We will write for 2 more Mondays, then decide the team and alternates. There has been a lot of interest this year and we have many creative writers.

The 8th grade is finishing creating an infographic. This is something they have never done before and has caused them to use critical thinking skills in order to use various graphics, icons, symbols, pictures etc..They are designing a page about a hero and will explain to the class what makes their person a hero.
In Visual Arts…
