At Saint Ambrose Catholic School, our students are well-balanced in and out of the classroom. We have a robust extracurricular Clubs and Activities program. All are encouraged to become engaged in any of our exciting clubs this season!

A reminder that any external clubs such as Young Rembrandts, and Chess Club also require registration on their websites directly and require payment directly. You will not be enrolled in these clubs without confirmation email from these vendors directly. please see below!

Art Club (Grades 2-8)
Join Mrs. Kinley and Mrs. McCarthy-Reed on Friday afternoons once a month to usher in the weekend and cap off the week creatively! Mrs. Kinley will be using multi-mediums to explore and refine art concepts and skills through drawing, pastel, watercolor, paint and multi-media. We will have so much fun in the process! Creative expression is encouraged!
Students recommended to pack an old shirt to wear as smock over their uniforms. Supplies are provided.

This club and fee are per semester. Students are not auto-admitted to spring semester if enrolled in the fall semester. Spring Semester Art Club enrollment opens in January of 2026.
Angel Ambassadors (Grades 4-8)
Student Ambassadors in Action program currently utilizes our NJHS and Student Council Students. Please sign up if your student is interested in helping at after school Admissions and school events for the 2025-2026 school year. We will contact you for student training and participation. Service hours are available. This club meets exclusively outside of the school day for commitments. Teacher recommendation is required. Students need to be available for open houses and graduation events.

Boy Scouts Troop 513
Boy Scout Troop 513, chartered by St. Ambrose Church since 1971, is a youth organization targeted to young boys between the ages of 11-18. Under the guidance of more than 25 adult leaders, the scouts will develop various skills including strong character, timeless values, and leadership. Troop 513 uses a variety of methods to promote these core values. Sign up for this directly through the Boy Scouts. The school does not manage this club or attendance. We are sharing the opportunity.
Broadcast Crew (Grades 6-8)
This club considers new members in the spring for the following school year. Please contact Mrs. Collins with interest to be added to the communication list in the spring for more information. Students are required to have regular commitment before the school day to participate.

Bowling Club (Grades 4-8)- Parent Transportation Required
Discover the game of bowling! Students must have parent-led transportation or carpool to participate. We will meet at a nearby Bowling Alley each Wednesday. Mrs. Amentini was a college bowling scholarship athlete and will provide instruction weekly. Transportation to and from this club is not provided by the school.
Meeting: Wednesdays: October 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th and November 5th, 12th, and 19th.

Competition Chess (Grades 3-8)
Continue your knowledge of chess in a competitive environment with peers. Must know how to play the game of chess to participate in this club. Beginner chess players should instead consider Progress with Chess to learn the game of chess.
Meeting: Weekly on Tuesdays- 9 sessions plus one tournament TBD|September 16-November 18th: Sept 16, Sept 23, Sept 30, Oct 7, Oct 14, Oct 21, Oct 28, Nov 11, Nov 18. No club on Nov 4th.

The Order of the Gentlemen- (Gentlemen in grades 4-8)
The Order of the Gentlemen Club will meet every other Tuesday after school, beginning September 23rd, for interactive sessions that combine life skills, teamwork, and personal growth. Our goal is to help students grow into young men who are respectful, responsible, and ready to lead by example. Young men will also participate in service projects.
Meeting: Every other Tuesday after school, September 23-December 2: September 23, October 7, 21, November 18, and December 2. (Club does not meet on 11/4 No School).

Progress With Chess Club (Grades 1-8)- Outside Vendor
Join us as we LEARN the game of chess, which has been shown to improve higher level thinking skills such as memory, concentration and pattern recognition! No previous experience is necessary. This is the club to join to learn the game of chess. This club is provided by an outside vendor. Students more advanced in Chess should consider Competition Chess instead.

Young Rembrandts Art Club (Grades K-5)-Outside Vendor
Young Rembrandts is an after-school enrichment program that offers drawing classes for children in Grades K-5! Drawing has proven to have special significance for young learners, providing a visual and tactile medium that meets children’s learning needs.
This club is not offered for Fall Semester 2025 due to lack of a YR teacher. The are planning for a winter or spring session pending staffing.
