This week in Visual Art for for Monday, Wednesday, & Friday  November 28th, 23rd, and December 2nd

Preschool: Students learned about patterns on the candy cane.  They applied stripes to a candy cane creating a pattern.

The letter J remind us of Jesus and helps us to remember that Christmas is Jesus’ Birthday.

Kindergarten: Students developed perceptual abilities while creating a silhouette of a Nativity. They observed the Nativity Scene and identified Mary, Joseph and Jesus.

First:  Students identified patterns and religious symbols. They painted Advent Candles.

Second: Mrs. Kubas’s Class  identified patterns and religious symbols. They painted Advent Candles. Mrs. Shreve’s class painted stained glass windows while adding glue to outline it. The glue demonstrates the lead in the windows.

Third: Students learned about the artist Gustav Klimt.  They created a painting of the Holy Family.

Fourth: Students utilized the class period to finish  their snow globes.

Snow globes are thought to date from France during the early 1800’s. In 1889, a snow globe containing a model of the newly built Eiffel Tower was produced to commemorate the International Exposition in Paris. Snow globes became popular in England during the Victorian era and, in the early 1920s, crossed the Atlantic to the North America where they became a popular collector’s item.

Fifth: Students learned about the art the Matisse. They created a tree while being inspired by the artist Henri matisse.

Sixth: Each student started an assignment on stained glass windows using paint and glue to resist. They applied Christian symbols.

Seventh: Each student started an assignment on stained glass windows using paint and glue to resist. They applied Christian symbols.

Eighth : Students in Mrs. Hamzik’s class finished their canvas paintings. Mr. Bolin’s class started an assignment on stained glass windows using paint and glue to resist.

Tonight:

Legacy is holding a family centered Christmas Concert, “Merry & Bright” on Friday, December 2ndh at 7:30pm.  We have rented the Strongsville United Methodist Church for this event at 82 and Webster.  Tri-C West Chorale, Singing Angels Reserve Chorus and Legacy Singers all perform. At this concert Saint Ambrose student artwork will be on display.
