Congratulations to the 12 finalists of the Innovation in Catholic Education awards.

We set out to search for the schools with the best innovations in Catholic Education This year’s awards will be offered in four categories for innovative projects in:

  • Promoting Catholic identity
  • Curriculum and instruction
  • Technology integration
  • Total community involvement, including fundraising

At the banquet in St. Louis, one grand prize winner will be announced in each category, and will each take home a $1,000 prize! All 12 schools will receive award trophies, large indoor/outdoor banners, copies of the awards publication, seats at the banquet, and more.

Here are the finalists in each category.

Promoting Catholic Identity

  • “Serving God by Serving Others” ~ Cathedral School, Raleigh, North Carolina
  • “Denim Days Service Learning Program” ~ Sacred Heart School, Southhaven, Mississippi
  • “The Homeless Project” ~ St. Ambrose School, Brunswick, Ohio

  • “Inspiring Teachers to Help Curriculum Drive Technology” ~ St. Mary Immaculate School, Plainfield, Illinois
  • “Partnership with STEPS Center for Excellence in Autism” ~ Academy of St. Adalbert, Berea, Ohio

Technology Integration

  • “zSpace Virtual Reality Computer Systems” ~ Blessed Trinity School, Ocala, Florida
  • “3D Printers to Provide Prosthetic Hands to Children” ~ Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School, Spring Hill, Florida
  • “Digital Citizenship with Peer-Taught Presentations” ~ St. Theresa School, St. Palatine, Illinois

Total Community Involvement, including Fundraising

  • “CKS Serves Program” ~ Christ the King School, Atlanta, Georgia
  • “Professional Learning Communities and +Works (Positive Works)” ~ St. Laurence School, Sugar Land, Texas
  • “Building a 21st-Century Playground” ~ St. John Paul II Academy, Dorchester, Massachusetts
