We are working on a variety of things in our Religion classes.
The 6th graders are comparing the Creation stories in Genesis and making slideshows to share with their 1st grade prayer partners. Their creativity is shining through with this project.
In 7th grade the students are determining the various aspects of Jesus as theWay, the Truth and the Life. Next Tuesday the 7th graders will be having a retreat experience here on campus with Josh and Caitlin, the youth ministers at St. Ambrose Parish.
The 8th grade will be leading our next all school Mass on Tuesday, September 13th with a special patriotic tribute in memory of 9/11. Please try to join us at 1:15 as they demonstrate their leadership skills. We will also be looking at what the precepts of the Curch are and examining the Apostle’s Creed to better understand what we believe.
All students will continue to prepare for weekend Mass by reading, reflecting on, and discussing the upcoming Gospel. Please take some time (maybe while driving them to all their activities) to find out what they reflected about in class. Then after you attend Mass together this weekend, discuss what was shared in the homily. I always found those “car discussions” were some of the best ways to help in parenting. You will be amazed at the wonderful insights your children have AND you will be keeping your relationship with them and God strong.
All HSP students are invited to become trained in one of the various liturgical ministries here at school. Forms have been given to students, are avilable in Room 204, and are available in the Google classroom for Religion. Training sessions are as follows:
- Cantor: Cantor Assesment on Wednesday 9/7 from 2:30-3:30 pm
