What a blessed week in Kindergarten!  This is my favorite time of year when family and friends unite to remember all of the reasons we should be thankful!  The reasons are endless!

We had a great day celebrating with family and loved ones with our traditional Kindergarten Feast!  Good people filled Hilkert Hall and celebrated together a feast, followed by a wonderful Kindergarten Mass!  We are all so blessed!

We started our Daily 5 and are slowly getting in to this new routine (please refer to handout sent home on Friday for further information).  Children are so excited to work in groups or as individuals to further explore reading and writing!  I am so excited to see the progress that will be made soon!

We worked hard with learning how to identify how many syllables words have by clapping.   We listened to fun songs that had us clapping out beats to hear how many syllables!  Practice makes for great progress!

We sounded out many nonsense and real words this week.  This is a skill which needs lots of TLC to help build a successful phonetic word detective!  :)  Kids are getting much better with their sight words and have even told me new games they are playing at home to help with identification of these words!  Please reach out if you need more activities other than the packs provided at conference time!

We concluded our week with 7th graders visiting our classroom as Saints!  We learned about many Saints and their special gifts!  What a great experience for all!  Thank you, 7th grade, for sharing your wisdom with us!

Please reach out any time!

Have a great weekend! :)
