What a great first day of school! I met with a few of my classes today; we briefly reviewed classroom procedures and expectations.
Important Information
Kindergarten – 3rd Grade will be in our Christmas Concert Thursday, December 15 (More information to come on this topic)
The Spring Showcase on Thursday, May 11 will have an array of performers! 4th-6th Grade is required to perform. (More information to come on this topic)
Brief View of 2016-2017 Music Program
Kindergarten-3rd Grade will run as a General Music Course. 4th Grade will be learning the recorder all year. 5th-6th Grade will be our school children’s choir. 7th-8th Grade will be Music Appreciation. Through each of these weekly posts I will give a brief synopsis of the week.
BAND
I will be sending band information home next week. If your child displays interest please contact me via email afriedman@staschool.us (BAND IS ONLY 5TH-8TH GRADE!!!!!) I will host a band informational meeting and instrument tryouts in the following weeks. (TBA) Please be on the look out for these specific dates and information.
The Glee Club will continue this year on every other Monday. On alternating Monday’s I will be hosting a School Church Choir. 5th-8th Students will be able to sign up for these clubs in next weeks music class.
Many great things are on the horizon for this year; if your child loves to sing or play an instrument please encourage them to share their talents and gifts! Looking forward to a great year of music making.
