Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands!  Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence with singing!
-Psalm 100:1-2

Together Mr. Josh Wortman, Fine Arts Music Instructor at Saint Ambrose Catholic School, and the Ohio Choral Directors Association (OCDA) Children’s Honor Choir offered an extraordinary opportunity to six Saint Ambrose students this summer!  Elementary and Junior High music instructors and community choir conductors are invited to select their finest young singers to participate in this unique concert experience led by Dr. Barbara Lamont, Guest Conductor from Southeast Missouri State University.
Singers attended two satellite rehearsals before their on-campus experience which took place at Otterbein University and featured singers from throughout the state of Ohio.  The students practiced for three days and culminated in a spectacular performance on June 19th!  Saint Ambrose was represented by Alexiah B., Benjamin D., Chelsea K., Angelina L., Emma T., and Elizabeth T.  Elizabeth T. was awarded a solo during the final performance.
The Ohio Choral Directors Association (OCDA) Children’s Honor Choir is an advanced choral experience for 100 of Ohio’s best unchanged voices in grades 4-8.    Teachers/instructors must be members of OMEA or OCDA to recommend students for this ensemble.  Special thanks to Mr. Wortman, and the Ohio Choral Directors Association OCDA for this tremendous vocal opportunity for our students!  We are so blessed to have a tremendous Fine Arts program at Saint Ambrose School and faculty who provide opportunities for our students to shine and grow!
