CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR SUMMER INTERNS!

Updated 7/29/19
We are so very blessed to partner this summer with local businesses to give our HSP students who recently completed grades 6-8th grade the opportunity to gain real life experience through summer internship programs.  We have students viewing eye surgeries, working in animal hospitals, assisting in non-profits, working with our city employees and first responders,  sales, and IT fields!  Below are some of our students’ experiences from this summer!
I had a lot of fun during my internship at the Brunswick Police Department!  I would like a job in law-enforcement and this was an amazing experience for me to see it up close. From the tours of dispatch and the station to fingerprinting and sitting in a cruiser and jail cell, this was so interesting and encouraged me to still want to pursue this career. They also gave me a real cool Brunswick Police Department souvenir coin when I left! Thank you for this great opportunity!” -Evan S.

I want to send this email to “Thank You” for giving me the opportunity to intern with Ms. Sarah Jamison from the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration- The National Weather Service) in Cleveland, OH  this July.  I have been interested in weather and weather forecasting for the last few years. My Uncle is a retired naval aviator, my Grandfather was in the Airforce, and my Dad also has his private pilot’s license.  In addition to always being interested in extreme weather like tornadoes and hurricanes, I also realize the importance of weather as it affects air flight.  As a result, not only did I get the opportunity to intern with Ms. Jamison at the NOAA in Cleveland, but Ms. Jamison also went out of her way to set up a meeting with Mrs. Lisa Hahn of the Cleveland Center Weather Service Unit (CWSU) located in the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) building in Oberlin, OH.I am so deeply thankful for this experience!  I learned so many new things and saw things I never thought about.  I also met many new people who took the time to talk to me about their specific jobs.” – Christian S.

Many thanks to our families, friends and partners who have partnered with us this summer to offer our HSP and graduating students valuable summer internship opportunities to learn and grow in their experiences!!Woodhouse Day Spa
