This week we will be taking the STAR Reading and Math tests in room 107 This is the assessment used in the past grades and your student is familiar with it already. Below is the schedule of the testing that will happen.
Tips for testing:
- Students should have a great night sleep
- Students should have eaten a healthy and filling breakfast
- Students should be present at school and on time
- Makeups will be done for students absent, but the testing environment is then altered quarter to quarter for them if they have to take the test a different day or time. Makeups are done with Mrs. Scheutzow in the DLL or Library.
STAR Math test= Thursday , September 22 @ 8:00 am
STAR Reading test= Friday , September 23, @8:00 am
As we take this test multiple times through the year we keep days of the week and times of testing consistent to ensure accuracy of results. After students complete the test Thursday they will be provided with their AR level and goals on the sheet in the front of their STAR binder. Please check this Friday evening. Students will then be permitted to start taking AR quizzes on books they have read starting Friday morning. Students can take the Third Grade Angels book quiz, but are not required to. Some books we have read in class also fit into AR this year and we will take those quizzes together as a class.
