Visual Art Update for Monday November 12th, Wednesday November 14th, and Friday November 16th

Preschool: Students experimented with pastels. They created turkey feathers using basic characteristics and expressive features of art.

Kindergarten: each student created a Cross. We utilized the Promethean Board to view the variations of different religious crosses. Students discovered and combined the design elements to communicate the subject matter.

First: Each student completed their stained glass window. They combined liquid glue with black paint to make the lead in between each piece of glass.

Second: Each student created a three-dimensional paper lantern The design resembles our catholic faith. They learned the trial and error of creating artwork and coming up with a desired outcome.

Third: Each student designed a “Thanksgiving Tree”.
They compared and contrasted their opinions of a work of art with those of their peers.They communicated how they reflect social influences and cultural traditions.

Fourth: Each student painted a landscape of water reflecting fall leaves. They developed and refined artistic techniques.

Fifth: Students are starting to design a Christmas ornament via digital design. The final step will be to send it down to the Innovative Lab where they will watch it become a three-dimensional ornament on the 3D printer.

Sixth: Students finished their “Monochromatic Paintings”. They examined objects and identified the processes and decisions made to produce a personal meaning.

Seventh: Each student completed a canvas painting. They
represented depth and volume in their two-dimensional works of art.

Eight: Started famous Artist Presentation research. They are developing awareness and articulating various functions of art. Students will understand how social, cultural and political factors affect what artists.
