Visual Art Update for Monday November 5th, Wednesday November 7th, and Friday November 9th

Preschool: Students identified art in daily life. They envisioned a turkey’s feathers and we discussed the art element of texture.

Kindergarten: Students reviewed the primary colors and introduced secondary colors. They experimented with color mixing while creating a design of a tree with many colors.

First: Students are learning about stained glass windows. We discussed the principles of design and how emphasis, balance, movement, variety, rhythm, pattern, repetition, contrast, and unity create a composition.

Second: Each student finished their Paul Klee Cat’s. They demonstrated flexibility in their creative process’

Third: Students started creating a Christmas scene. They recognized and identified choices that gave meaning to a personal work of art.

Fourth: Each student created a digital citizenship superhero.This was a STREAM project.

Fifth: Each student designed a Thanksgiving Prayer Card to be handed out during the Thanksgiving Feast. This is a collaborative project with St Ambrose Parish.

Sixth: Mr. Mullen’s class attended the read-a-thon Author Presentation in Hilkert Hall. Mr. Begley’s class created a Barkcloth cross-curricular with Music class.

Seventh: Each student started to paint on canvas. They examined objects and identified the processes and decisions made to produce a painting.

Eight: The class is working collaboratively in preparation for the eighth grade play.
