Visual Art Update for Monday, Wednesday & Friday April 15th & 17th
Happy Wednesday!

As we continue Holy Week, St. Ambrose offers many opportunities to grow in our faith. Take time to give thanks to God for all He has done for us, as well as Jesus for his ultimate sacrifice. Please see below for a full schedule of events.

Holy Week Concert
Wednesday, April 17, 2019 7:00 pm
Members of our Adult Choir, Instrumentalists, Angels and Gaudete! Choirs, Hand-bells, Adult and School Cantors come together for song, scripture and reflection as we journey together, growing closer to the Lord. This is a FREE event for our parish and community come together, and experience powerful music that the Lord has blessed us with.

Holy Thursday, April 18
Holy Thursday begins the Triduum, the three days that lead up to Easter Sunday.
Morning Prayer in the Chapel at 8:15am
Mass of The Lord’s Supper at 7:30pm
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament throughout the night in the Mother Teresa room following Mass (Night Prayer at 10:30pm)

Good Friday, April 19
Morning Prayer in the Chapel at 8:15am
Stations of the Cross at 12:00pm in the Church
Passion Liturgy with Veneration of the Cross at 3:00pm in the Church

Holy Saturday, April 20
Morning Prayer in the Chapel at 8:15am
Blessing of the Easter Food at 1:00pm in the Church
Easter Egg Hunt 1:30pm on Parish Grounds
Easter Vigil at 8:30pm

Solemn Blessing of the Easter Food, 1:00pm
Bring a basket containing some of your favorite Easter Foods to be blessed. This wonderful family tradition celebrates the new life in Christ fostering health of body and soul. Foods are then taken home and shared on Easter.

Easter Egg Hunt, 1:30pm
COME FOR THE FOOD BLESSING…STAY FOR THE EGG HUNT!
Bring your basket; an Easter egg hunt for children will be held immediately after the Blessing of Food at 1:30pm. Rain or shine!

Easter Sunday, April 21
Hallelujah! Christ is Risen! Celebrate in our Renewed Church
6:00 am Sunrise Service, 7:30 am, 9:00 am, 10:30 am, 12:00 noon, 5:00 pm

Preschool: No classes Good Friday

Kindergarten: Each student learned about the art element of “texture”. They created a rabbit using lines and colors.

First : Each student communicated their interpretation of nutritional food while developing a collage. This is a STEAM project working collaboratively with Teachers (nutrition/food ).

Second: Each student learned about the art element of “texture”. They created a rabbit using lines and colors.

Third: Students in Mrs. Grabers class worked on a placemat for the “woman’s tea” for the parish. Mrs. Cole’s class engineered a bicycle. They used their critical thinking skills to develop a design that is functional.

Fourth:

Fifth: Students in Mrs. Sekerak class missed art due to music practice. Mrs. Stearn’s class engineered a bicycle.

Sixth: each student learned different techniques in watercolor painting. They created a landscape while imaging “foreshortening “ of an object whether it was a tree or flower.

Seventh: Each student experimented with different watercolor techniques creating a landscape.

Eight: Students started a silhouette self portrait. They were inspired by their Catholic faith and incorporated design elements into their work.
