Visual Art Update for Monday,Wednesday and Friday March 5th, 7th, & 9th

Preschool: Students utilized watercolor paints to create a rainbow. They learned about the color wheel.

Kindergarten: Each student designed their own Migrating birds. They learned about patterns, shapes, and complementary colors.

First: Each student designed a card for the Cancer Patients at the Rainbow Babies Children’s Hospital. These cards will be given to the children receiving chemo.

Second: Stencil Art *positive and Negative Space. Each student designed a card for the Cancer Patients at the Rainbow Babies Children’s Hospital. These cards will be given to the children receiving chemo.

Third: Stencil Art *positive and Negative space. Each student designed a card for the Cancer Patients at the Rainbow Babies Children’s Hospital. These cards will be given to the children receiving chemo.

Fourth: Students created their own “op art” using a patterns, created and designed by them.

Fifth: Students researched famous artists. They collaborated in groups of two. They interpreted selected artworks and synthesized their interpretations with others.

Sixth: Students worked in groups of two to research famous artists.

Seventh: Students worked collaboratively to design a presentation about a famous artist. They learned about historical time periods, and cultures throughout the world. Each section displayed information about the artist and the culture devoted to a particular concept.

Eighth: Students worked collaboratively in groups to complete an art history timeline.
They developed conventions of the main periods/styles.
