Visual Art Update for Monday, Wednesday and Friday Feb. 5th, 7th, & 9th

Preschool: In collaboration with Preschool students

Kindergarten: Students in Mrs. Gove’s class sketched their hands and learned about Opt Art. Mrs. Kautzman’s class created a collage of a lion . They learned about the Bible story Daniel and the Lion’s Den.

First:

Second: Students learned about the Bible story “Daniel and the Lions Den”. They then created their own interpretation of a lion with a collage mane. They examined one cultural piece of artwork and responded to the
visual, expressive features in the work. Mrs. Shreve’s class worked on a service project. They painted rocks with prayer messages.

Third: Students finished the details on their dream home drawing. They learned about one point perspective.

Fourth: Mrs. Zambo’s class painted patterns and details on their coil pottery. They practiced good craftsmanship. Mrs. Parente’s class started creating Google Doodle art. The theme this year is…..”What Inspires Me”?.

Fifth: Students learned about weaving and the process.

Sixth:Students used their critical thinking skills to create a Doodle Google Art The theme this year is…..”What Inspires Me”?.

Seventh: Students started researching cultural masks. They developed a three- dimensional mask made with mixed media.

Eighth: Students manipulated clay to create a clay vessel. We discussed the different methods while utilizing clay. Such as; slab, wheel, coil, pinch, etc.
