Visual Art Update for Wednesday & Friday November 27th, 29th and December 1

Preschool: Students created a Christmas Tree Pattern. They looked at patterns in nature and identified simple colors.

Kindergarten: Students learned about the technique of “Collage”. They generated ideas based on observation, memory, , imagination and experience.

First: Students selected the art and design elements to explore their feelings and relationships with their Catholic Faith. They created a “Winter Christmas Scene”.

Second: Students learned about “What is a motif”? Creating your own motif How a motif can create a pattern Basic geometry using triangles Different ways of creating a pattern

Third: Students experimented with chalk pastels. They used the appropriate visual art vocabulary during artmaking processes.
They found and solved problems of personal relevance and interest when developing artmaking ideas.

Fourth: Students demonstrated motivation, independence and persistent during
studio practices to complete artworks.

Fifth: Students expressed imaginary worlds and gave free expression to their imagination. They developed visual awareness in their
drawings and a sensitivity to the expressive
powers of other artists’ drawings.

Sixth, Seventh, Eighth: Students created Parabolic Curves Using Straight Lines while constructing a 3-D artwork. They used yarn to create geometrical abstract designs.
