Visual Art Weekly Update for

for Monday, Wednesday  & Friday  May 15th, 17th, & 19th

 

Preschool: Students utilized chalk on the pavement outdoors. They created shapes and designs. They experienced the texture of the pavement as a new surface to create art.

 

Kindergarten:  Students utilized chalk on the pavement outdoors. They created shapes and designs. They experienced the texture of the pavement as a new surface to create art.

 

First: Each student created a composition of a flower utilizing pastels as the art medium. They studied the artist Georgia O’Keeffe. They observed large shapes and lines.They created a flower that was intently uncentered. They cropped the flower pedals that will appear closer to the viewer. They used the Rule of Thirds to create this dynamic composition. They learned about art appreciation.

Fourth: Each student painted a flower pot for the Women’s Guild. They incorporated the principles of design and the arrt elements.

 

Fifth: Each student started a preliminary design for the Pointillism technique.

 

Sixth: Students finished their charcoal pastel project and then utilized the rest of art class to complete their mosaic. Mrs. Kadlec’s class finished their mosaic’s.

 

Seventh:  Students learned about proportion and drawing figures in motion. They learned the basic anatomy and the muscles attached.

Eight: Students missed art class to due MAP testing.
