Visual Art Weekly Update for Wednesday, & Friday
Feb. 22nd & 24th
Preschool: No school President’s Day
Kindergarten: Students explored the book Dr Seuss’s “If We Ran the Zoo”. They utilized literature to connect with art while creating a animal train. Each student was assigned a train car to decorate and add their favorite animal. Afterwards, the students connected each piece to make a full train.
First: No school President’s Day
Second: Students learned about the artist Michelangelo and the Sistine Chapel. They took a virtual tour of the Vatican and the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Afterwards, they create their own interpretation of the ceiling while taping a piece of paper underneath their desks then painting it.

Mrs. Graber’s class made cards for the Homeless. They is a cross-curricular project with Coding. Afterwards, students watched a video about the Sistine Chapel.
Fourth: No school President’s Day
Fifth: Students finished their collaborative puzzle piece that will be on display at the Spring Concert in May. Each piece resembles a country and it’s artistic cultural heritage.
Afterwards, students learned about the artist George Henry Boughton and his artwork titled “Pilgrims going to church”. They read through the story and answered questions on a worksheet.

Mrs. Demboski’s class created cards for the Homeless. This is a cross-curricular project with Coding.

Afterwards, they learned about the Artist:Raphael . In groups of two they completed a worksheet that related to the artwork titled “Saint George and the Dragon”.
Eighth: Mrs. Hamzik’s class had Map testing. Mr. Bolin’s class learned about OPT Art. They learned about the illusion of Optical Art and expressed their feelings through art production.
