Visual Arts Update 9/2/2016
Kindergarten: We met for the first time on Wednesday. Students enjoyed utilizing the Smartboard to mix colors and learn about the elements of art.
First: Each student enjoyed learning about the color wheel. They learned about the primary colors. They used their observational skills to investigate making a work of art.
Second -Fourth: Learned about Saint Francis of Assisi and his love for the environment and animals. They enjoyed drawing animals in their natural habitat.
Students connected with these essential question(s): How do life experiences influence the way you relate to art? How does learning about art impact how we perceive the world? What can we learn from our responses to art?
Fifth: Students used their critical thinking skills to imagine themselves as a animal. What animal holds the same character traits as they have. Students interpreted the meaning in their artwork.
