Hello Parents!
Another fun week in first grade has gone by!
The children are continuing to practice and strengthen their memory words. The children are orally assessed on a weekly basis and given a list of words based on their individual needs. This is showing to be very effective with the students.
Please be sure to continue to practice reading and spelling words from your Superkids list. Just like riding a bike, the more you practice the easier it becomes and the better you become at it.
The children are also working hard on mastering their addition and subtraction math problems. Please continue to have your child practice his or her math problems using Xtra Math. Liam received an Xtra Math certificate for doing a fantastic job solving addition facts in a timely manner. Way to go Liam! :)
Febraury is Dental Health Month and the students are doing a fantastic job learning about how to care for their teeth. If you work in a dental office and would like to come and speak to the children about dental health, please contact me.
Please consider donating to our senior dog friends at “The Sanctuary for Senior Dogs.” The deadline has been extended and donations will be accepted up to and including Friday, March 3rd. If you would like to learn more about this wonderful shelter, you can learn more about them on the internet at http://www.sanctuaryforseniordogs.org/
We are also in need of aluminum tabs to give to the Cleveland Ronald Mc Donald House in Cleveland. The money earned from the tabs will be used to help ill children and their families in need.
Enjoy your long weekend!
