This Week in Visual Arts

Visual Art Lessons for Monday, Wednesday, & Friday September 19th, 21st, 23rd.

 

Preschool:  They learned about art appreciation from a video on Vincent Van Gogh’s Sunflowers. Afterwards, students designed their our sunflower.

 

Kindergarten: Students learned about the artist Vincent Van Gogh’s. They created a scene out of sunflowers.

 

First and Second: They created a scene with hot air balloons. They listened to the song “Lift your Name up High to the LORD”.

 

Third: Created an outdoor scene depicting “Falling Leaves”. We discussed the difference between Organic Shapes Vs Geometric Shapes (Part of God’s Creations).

 

Fourth : The class designed  a Native American Tepee. They learned about the different symbols and pictographs.

 

Fifth: Students created a Fall 3-D Leave Painting.

They demonstrated skill, craftsmanship and reasoning abilities in solving visual art problems using specific tools.

 

Sixth and Seventh:Graphic Design.  

Students created a digital cover for our community for Veterans Day. The  Card will go home to St Ambrose Parishioners. Students will utilize their Chromebooks.

 

Eighth: Created a  Rolled Paper Design .  

The is called Relief. It is a sculptural technique where the sculpted elements remain attached to a solid background of the same material. The term relief is from the Latin verb relevo, to raise. To create a sculpture in relief is to give the impression that the sculpted material has been raised above the background plane.
