Visual Art Update for Wednesday and Friday April 4th &6th

Preschool: Students demonstrated flexibility in their creative processes and use of art
Materials.

Kindergarten: Students created artworks based on imagination and observation of familiar objects and scenes.

First: Students learned about complementary colors: Red & Green, Blue and Orange, Purple and Yellow;colors opposite each other on the color wheel.

Second: Students created a bas relief flower landscape.
A French term from the Italian basso-relievo (“low relief”), bas relief is a sculpture technique in which figures and/or other design elements are just barely more prominent than the (overall flat) background.

Fourth:
Students started researching famous artists in groups of two. They will present their findings in the next couple weeks.

Fifth: Students finished their watercolor paintings of ocean animals.

Sixth: Students researched famous artists and then presented their findings to the class. They connected ideas, concepts and processes used in visual art.

Seventh: No classes *spring break

Eighth: Students utilized the Distance Learning Lab to view graphic design site VECTR. They were given instructions to create their own graphic art using this site on their chromebooks.
