Welcome to First Grade!

I am very happy to have your child in my class this school year.  I am looking forward to reading, writing, sharing, learning and laughing with your child.  I am also looking forward to building a partnership with you, as communication is an essential part of the education process.

I will be posting  important information and classroom updates on the school website weekly. It is important that you read it on a regular basis.

It is going to be a very exciting school year as we will be reading with the Superkids, using computer tablets, writing stories, and solving problems by applying a variety of mathematical skills that we will be learning.

There are so many things we will be learning this year that there is not enough room to list them all!

If ever you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

A few important reminders:

  1. If your child has not brought his or her summer reading project puppet to school yet, please send it to school with him or her tomorrow to receive credit.
  2. On Friday, we will be having a school picnic lunch consisting of hot dogs on the grill, pretzels, cookies and juice.  Please send a healthy snack to school for your child to eat in the morning prior to our picnic.
  3. Please return your completed “Introducing your Child” form to school with your child on Friday.
