MAP Testing Begins on Monday

2017-09-08T16:01:54-04:00September 8th, 2017|K-3-McCarthy-Reed|

Good Afternoon Parents! On Monday, the students will begin MAP testing. The students will be assessed in reading and Math. There is nothing to study for. The MAP test will be giving me a picture of your child's current skills in reading and math. ALL STUDENTS MUST BRING A PAIR OF HEADPHONES TO SCHOOL ON MONDAY to take the MAP assessment. Please be sure your child has a good night rest on Sunday and eats a good, healthy breakfast before school. Today, your child also brought home a poetry folder that contains a poem we practiced and read together in class. Please have your child read the poem to you or another adult in your family. Once the poem is read, please sign and date yourchild's "Lucky Listener Log" and return it to school on Monday. Have a wonderful weekend!

Important Notes and a Friendly Reminder

2017-09-05T15:39:22-04:00September 5th, 2017|K-3-McCarthy-Reed|

Good Afternoon Parents! I hope all of you had a wonderful holidayweekend! I have a few important notes and friendlyreminders: -Please make sure you sign and return your child's Acceptable Use Policy. This form needs to be signed and returned ASAP so your child can use the school computers. All students will need headphones to take their upcoming MAP assessment next week. There is no way to prepare for this test. The test gives me a good indication of where your child is at and what skills he or she needs strengthened or challenged. Please be sure your child brings headphones to school by Friday. -   Tomorrow, there will not be hot lunch in the lunchroom due to two funerals. As a result, lunch will be eaten in the classroom. Please be sure to refrain from sending any foods containing any type of nuts to class. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Have a nice evening! :)
